Happy 9th Birthday Royce

Royce woke up around 5:30 this am hoping to get us all up to open presents. AaaHAHAHAHA

then again at 7:30 He was so happy to get the AT-TE not a sweater like I promised. Avary was equally excited and enjoyed his presents as much as him. Roy chose Chicos again for his party I think this is his 5th or 6th year at Chicos. He had 20+ kids and some adults. This was his first party with girls Niki and Mckala they were very cute and funny about the whole thing. I still cant believe he is 9 it's all going too fast. This will probably be his last year believing in Santa YIKES I better go hang out with him now because at this rate he will be driving soon.

some pic's for Grandma.

They talk about Grandma everyday!

This is what makes a mom of two happy

A fancy new front loading energy efficient set of laundry machines. And Royce telling me the table he sits at in class is "inhabited with girls" why not just I'm the only boy at the table? and Avary asking me how does big foot drive? Today is a good day in the life of Mom.

my new found patriotic feeling

I am feeling a something I haven't felt in about 8 years patriotic.

Patriotic is a feeling sadly I haven't felt in a long time. Don't get me wrong I love America, I just haven't felt represented by my leaders or agreed with the direction we have been headed for the last two terms of the Bush administration. No I did not vote for him or his Dad.

I love the American flag but unfortunately have not felt like flying one Since Bush invaded Iraq. It almost felt like the flag was hijacked as a symbol for the right wing war machine not a symbol of freedom and honor.

I feel like we have elected a President who can take America in to the future. Last night I heard a news caster say the world is smaller and more crowded. This is so true it is time to think globally. I watched the BBC this A.M. and felt proud of the way the U.S. is being looked at by other countries, un like the embarrassment of the last two elections.

I am a proud American this morning and dare I say hopeful for our future.

trick or treat

We trick or Treated Ilwaco this year. It reminded me of Halloween when I was a kid loads of kids in groups going door to door in this cute neighborhood with beautifull old houses. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
